3M™ Scotch-Weld™ SF100 is an ultra-fast, low-viscosity, instant cyanoacrylate adhesive. It allows for very fast bonds of a variety of materials, including leather, wood, plastic and rubber.
Instant Bonding Our 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Ultra Fast Instant Adhesive SF100 is designed to provide instant bonding. The ultra-fast cure allows you to move forward with projects quickly and maintain high productivity. The low viscosity allows the adhesive to flow quickly and create a thin layer that bonds in seconds. This fast-acting cyanoacrylate can be used in high-paced production applications for ultra-fast cure. Maximum bond strength is typically achieved within a 24-hour cure time, although low humidity and temperature conditions will slow the cure rate. Once cured, 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Ultra Fast Instant Adhesive SF100 performs well in temperatures ranging from -65°F/-53°C to 180°F/82°C. The flexible container can be squeezed to precisely dispense a drop or bead of the desired length and width. The nozzle can be cut to the desired size to aid in this targeted application. Recommended Applications Hard-to-bond plastics and rubbers Acidic and/or contaminated surfaces Wood Cork Leather Cardboard Oily surfaces What are instant adhesives? Instant adhesives are cyanoacrylate-based formulas that produce strong, fast-acting adhesives used in industrial and household applications. Generally, they are an acrylic resin that polymerizes rapidly in the presence of water (specifically, hydroxide ions), forming long, strong chains that bond the bonded surfaces together. Cyanoacrylates are sensitive to moisture. Excessive exposure to moisture can reduce their shelf life. Since the presence of moisture causes the glue to set, exposure to normal levels of humidity in the air will cause a light film to form within a few seconds, which will significantly slow the reactive cross-linking process. For this reason, cyanoacrylate must be applied in a thin layer to allow the reaction to proceed rapidly and to form a strong bond in a reasonable amount of time. 3M Instant Adhesives apply directly from the container and reach room temperature handling time quickly. Just one drop per square centimeter can bond many plastics, rubbers, metals and other materials with high tensile strength.
